Members of patrol are the backbone of the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team.  The Sheriff maintains three boats and dive equipment for six search and recovery divers.  The Dive Team is activated about five times a year on average for missions, typically involving the search for and recovery of bodies, vehicles and evidence.  Members of the dive team (who double as boat pilots) may also be used in search and rescue for lost hunters in flooded timber, evacuation of citizens in times of flooding and other water-related emergencies.
